Re: Inbound firelwall rules terms

Since there are a lot of new terms for some of us XP folks, where do I
find the definitions of the terms. The links doesn't really help in
this matter.

thanks

Re: Inbound firelwall rules terms

Yeah, just look up anything having to do with firewalls, or even TCP/IP.
They're all standard TCP/IP networking terms (not Microsoft terms).

Ooops, I spoke too soon. Some of those things are Vista features, like

BITS Service
Collaboration Infrastructure (People Near Me)

Re: Inbound firelwall rules terms

Yeah, it's just that if you google 'em you might end up with about a
quadrillion links. Webopedia.com is good for short definitions.
search.microsoft.com for Microsoft-specific stuff (though google will get
you to those too). Wikipedia.org for general encyclopedic stuff.
