can't browse the internet

daughter got an ACER 5520 laptop with Vista Home Premium. She can talk on IM,
but when she brings up Vista...it says there is no internet connection. The
icon near the clock says she's connected. Suggestions?
Thanks

Re: can't browse the internet

button, and be sure the check is removed from 'use a proxy..."
