Vista - Dual (multi) monitor support

Hi there,

I have Windows vista running on my work test machine, but it only has a
single head display card, though when it comes out for sale, I will be
purchasing it for my main desktop PC that currently has dual display, and is
soon to have a 3rd attached, i'm running a Geforce 6600GT, and using the
Nvidia drivers to "span" the screen so i end up with windows believing it is
a single monitor runing at 2048x768, with the taskbar running accross both
screens.

My question here, is does / will Vista support "Spanning" as apposed to the
normal "dual" display that is in windows XP, as this is much more useful to
me, If it does support this, will there be a way to limit the size of a
maximized window, E.G. Internet Explorer, so that it doesn't span accross
both screens.

This is a feature that I would really like to see, as using the "span"
screen is very effective for both my work & gaming.

I think it's a video card thing and not an operating system thing to be
honest. I can dual screen and span if I wish - however on one I get a
stretched wallpaper, the other I can surf the net and on another screen I
can develop with.

However (I'm prepared to be wrong) - I think it comes down to the video card
itself. Vista at the moment only visually supports dual screens.
