Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

Is it possible to change something in Registry to start Live Mail or My
Live.com home page from the Start Menu?

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

Why the registry? Don't you just need to have IE7 in your Startup folder
with a home page set to Windows Live?

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

Andre I thought that when you installed Windows Live Mail (I had it a while
ago) that it converted your hotmail account to Windows Live Mail and when
you signed into your hotmail account you were in Windows Live Mail. I
didn't like the interface much and thought the original was better but check
and see if the new features will help you. There is a newer version: (You
can download from either link):

Windows Mail Blog
http://morethanmail.spaces.live.com/

Windows Live Mail Page
http://ideas.live.com/programPage.as...7-e36dd191a9f4

You sure don't need the registry. All you need to do is drag a shortcut from
the address bar when you log in and you'll have a shortcut to it on your
desktop (but you'll of course have to sign in after a certain period of time
like any email account that is web based.)

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

In "Costomize Start Menu" window I have only choice between Windows Mail and
Hotmail (E-mail link).
And I don't want to set up the Windows Live's My Live page as a home page.
I want to have Live Mail in list of this choices.

Can't you make an IE7 Favorite and store the favorite in the Startup folder?

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

Mark, of course I don't want to store the Favorites in Startup.
It's even sounds strange for me.
And you store all you favorites into your Startup?

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

No, but I also have no desire to open a web page when I start my system,
either. Isn't that what you are trying to do?

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

Thanks, CH.
Your advise works fine for me.
I've downloaded and installed Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta, and I've got a
third link in Customize Start Menu window. That is called Windows Live
Desktop Beta, and that's what I was need.

Thank you ALL.

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

After re-reading your post, I realize I was incorrect. Sorry about that.
Chad's advice should work for you.

Re: Customize Start Menu > E-mail link > Live Mail ?

I am trying to change the email link in the Start Menu to AT&T Yahoo Mail, which is my primary email account. But in the 'Customize" area under "Properties" there is only "Windows Mail" and "Windows Live Mail" as choices in the dropdown menu. How can I change it to AT&T Yahoo Mail?
