Networking Vista Desktop with XP Desktop and Lappy with Vista.

I'm ready to experiment with networking my Vista desktop with my XP Desktop
and Lappy Laptop. I'm on broadband cable Internet.

I have a D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router, two Airlink Wireless PCI AWLH4030
Adapters (for desktops) and an AWLC3026C Wireless Cardbus Adapter. All are
installed and working fine for getting onto the Internet. I also have Canon
Pixma iP 1500 (on Vista machine), Brother HL-1650 Laser and HP 9650 Deskjet
(on XP Machine) Printers to share.

I know there are instructions somewhere on doing this, but can't seem to
find them again. I had 'em printed out once, but they're buried right now.
Weren't they somewhere in the Help files?

Re: Networking Vista Desktop with XP Desktop and Lappy with Vista.

Hey Nancy, are you referring to networking over wireless? I networked my
Vista desktop and XP laptop (wired) just fine. Just made sure both are are
on the same Workgroup, unique ip addresses.

Yes, it's off topic, but I wanted to get something started so we can at
least concentrate on helping each other. And I did cross post to the
networking_sharing newsgroup. Heading over there to see what's what.

Actually, if it's any use - I use the standard XP network center thingy to
get my settings up and ready - I just find it so much easier!
