Re: Vista Premium: Backup doesn't work

Home Premium certainly does have System Restore. The shortcut might be
missing from the menu, or maybe you mean an OEM System Recovery utility?

The backup utility can't save to usb flash drives, non-UDF formatted optical
discs, the system/boot disk or network shares on XP Home computers.

Re: Vista Premium: Backup doesn't work

I have been trying to back my system up since I bought the computer. The
program that backs up the system doesn't want to recognize the disk that I
put in the F drive. Some one from Dell told me that Memorex disks are not
compatable with Vista. Have you ever heard of such a thing? More importanly
I am looking for a way to back up my system. Any suggestions?

Re: Vista Premium: Backup doesn't work

This interesting, because the system would not accept the High Speed Memorex
CD-RW I tried to use. I kept getting a message to insert the disk into the F
drive, so then I bought a flash drive and that wasn't a solution either. Any
other suggestions?

Re: Vista Premium: Backup doesn't work

Amy,

Unfortunately, Acronis is going to be the way to go. I, too, have had disappointing results from the 'Complete PC Backup' tool with Vista.
