Problem with IME Japanese language

Hello.
I am curerntly having problem with Japanese IME 'Input Mode'... (new
computer with Windows Vista)
It is set up as 'Hiragana', but even though, it always go back to 'Half
width Alhanumeric'... So, everytime I need to type Japanese, I need to pull
up tha bar, and select input mode,, and change it to 'Hiragana'..
I did not have this problem with Windows XP.

Also the Japanese font looks weard... wanted to change it but there is no
where I can change it..

Please help!

Thank you.

Lucky you, I actually use a Japanese Keyboard and 9 out of 10 times XP
(or vista for that matter) will *not* recognize it as such and I have to
manually reset my keyboard layout.

Never encountered your issue though. All I can say is that MS' IME
support is utterly pathetic...

One suggestion I can make, *if* you are using a keyboard made by MS, make
sure you have the latest version of IntelliType installed. May help...but
only if you are using an MS keyboard. Other brands I can't offer any
suggestions.

What do you mean by looking weird? What looks weird about them?

RE: Problem with IME Japanese language

Yossiri-
I am having the same problem as you. I find it very irritating and time
consuming. Stephan is right, the MS support for IME is unbelievably
terrible. If you find any solutions to this problem, I'd love to hear it!

Thanks.
