SHELL_OBJECT_FOLDER

At the top of Vista home premium's program list there's a SHELL_OBJECT_FOLDER
entry. Can anyone tell me what this is and why is it there?

Thanks

Well you've got a program that's decided to call itself SHELL_OBJECT_FOLDER
by the sound of it. Certainly an odd one - not the most exciting application
name for sure.

See which other programs you installed on the same date - The "Installed on"
column may provide some clues.

Re: SHELL_OBJECT_FOLDER

The SHELL_OBJECTS_FOLDER contents is identical to the folder contents for one
of my other programs. (Mediaface 5.0) So, there are 2 folders with those
same program shortcuts. Mediaface is the only program that was installed on
the "installed on" date.

I'm not comfortable about deleting either folder, nor do I even know if I
could delete the SHELL_OBJECTS_FOLDER or what result that woiuld have. Sorry
to be such a newbee at this.

Re: SHELL_OBJECT_FOLDER

Well I think you've found your culprit.

It looks like fairly legitimate software if you got it from a good source,
so unless it's a big issue to you I would probably leave it as is.

If you want to delve into it more deeply, you could try uninstalling and
reinstalling the 'MediaFace' application completely, and see what is removed
and re-added as a result.
