If i minimize a window [or several, if have a few opened] instead of showing
on taskbar the windows close and I loose what i was working on or looking at.
This has happened over the last few days.
Anyone know whats happening here?

Re: minimizing windows

I installed a few which i removed completely, but i am not absolutely sure
when the problem began. i have run registry cleaner [Utilities 2008].
Note the problem is only on minimize. If i make it 'smaller' no problem
Thanks for response

Re: minimizing windows

Julsie,

I think you should try a System Restore and go back to a point just before
your problem began. Also and I can't stress this enough, STAY away from any
Registry Cleaners. They absolutely do way more hard than good. You will see
some swear by them, but I assure you even if you use one and you're luckily
enough not to do any harm they still do not speed up your system as many
think.

Re: minimizing windows

I need to apologise to everyone. After restoring all my Registry clean ups
and scratching my head and looking through every sitting on my computer I
discovered that I had installed the programme called "rocket dock" which is
very useful, but I have checked the setting to minimise everything to the
"dock ".
Immediately that I removed the setting all my windows again minimise to the
taskbar where they belong.
I thank everyone for responding and apologise (as often as I do) again for
my stupidity. I live and learn every day even that the age of 77 :-)

Re: minimizing windows

Julsie,

Glad you found your problem. BTW, at 77 if you had stopped learning then you
wouldn't be living.

similar...

Re: minimizing windows

Unfortunately yes 3 years ago. Although I never got to meet him in person,
we worked together on DOS for WindowsME and spent many many hours on that.
Became good friends and stayed in touch via Email. He was indeed a gentle
giant and really knew his stuff when it came to computers and software. Sure
miss him, but will for sure see him on the other side. Wonder what version
of Windows he is using? VBG
