| | Drivers installing very very slow... please help me! I've installed Windows Vista on my HP laptop (AMD Turion 64 / 1 GB RAM / Ati Radeon XPRESS 200M) and initially it worked fine. But now, I have a serious problem when connecting new USB devices. The drivers installation takes a very long time, and during the installation the "SYSTEM" process takes all the CPU power slowing down the PC. Moreover, sometimes the installation fails for timeout! I don't have any idea of how solving this problem, and this is a very annoying problem, because when I connect a new device (e.g. a new USB memory, or a webcam, or a mobile phone) I have to wait for a long time (about 20 minutes) before it works... if I'm lucky and it works! During this wait the PC is very very slow... Only devices already installed work fine. -- John |
