chat window alert?

Is there a script that will make my PC play a sound when a java chat window
opens?

Just a chat window - similar to msn, but it doesn't have an alert

many people use chat programs whereby a window opens and a virtual
conversation takes place via typing.
What i want to happen is when such a window opens, my pc makes a sound -
that's all.

Hi Pete,

I think you are talking about a Java Script window and unless the website
has a sound embedded within it you can't do what you are asking, it's up to
the developer.

I did have a .vbs script that done it on an old PC that some kind guy on
this forum wrote for me - it was only about 5 short lines of code and worked
perfectly, trouble is the old pc went some time ago.....
