How to delete E:\$RECYCLE.BIN

Placed the old disk with XP on it as a backup
drive "E"
Having ownership of this disk and the folders
and files in it, and deleted as much of it as I could.
How can I delete $RECYCLE.BIN on
this disk. Is it really necessary formating
to fully clean up this drive .
Thanks for answering.

Re: How to delete E:\$RECYCLE.BIN

If the disk was origonally a boot disk you would be advised to delete the
partition then create new & format
