FWIW...turning off User Account Control reduces
the security of your system.

The option to disable User Account Control
can be found at: Control Panel / Classic View /
User Accounts.

Disable UAC
http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/supertweaks.htm#one

Download TweakUAC

Enable or Disable UAC From the Windows Vista Command Line

Re: Turning off UAC?

You just posted:

How do I fix Vista
It always flashes green and blue.

Now you want to turn off UAC?

I think it's best if you just turn your system off and leave it off. You
kids in Iowa City need to learn the basics in Vista before you go fooling
around with UAC.

<Sadness> I had thought that Alex had retired, hung up his mouse, or
whatever. I didn't know he had passed away.

I'll take this opportunity to pay tribute, not only to Alex but ALL the
great MVPs.

The MVP program is one excellent thing that MS have done (and we recall the
attempt by the Redmond twisted, shambling, bean-counting horrors to
terminate the program some years back. Happily, common sense prevailed,
when someone pointed out the squillions MVPs save MS in customer support and
customer sanity).

Rest Well, Alex.

Paddy

Sad indeed, I sure miss that rascal. Had a great time emailing back and
forth when we where working on DOS for WinME. Alex, hang up his mouse? no
way, that guy love it and was a very knowledable Windows user. He tought me
a lot, heck he probally forgot more about computers than I'll ever know.

Yep I remember it well and the outrage from thousands of people whom
depended on the MVP program to help solve their problems. Many thanks to
them all for letting MS know they weren't going to let it happen without
their voice being heard.

Now to which Patty do I have the pleasure replying to? I knew of two, an MVP
and our Lead.

Semi-retired electrical, electronics, computer teacher;
Use much MS software; Loathe MS corporate mindset,
Grateful admirer and recipient and user of much MVP wisdom over the years.
