| Guest | Modems with Vista. Modems with Vista x64 and Windows x64 are the same, not all modems have drivers like XP 32 bit. The US Robotics 5610B modem has drivers that install with the operating system. The USR 5699B doesn't have drivers available. I haven't tried any other modems because I have one that works and fulfills my needs at this time. The USR 5610B modem functions fully for faxing and other functions. For dial-up internet there is a major problem because all ISP providers aren't supporting Vista or Windows x64 yet. The last message that I got was that I was using an unsupported operating system. This isn't something lacking on the part of MS because they don't write the drivers or ISP programs. The use of an external modem connected to the PC or laptop with a RJ45 cable to the NIT connector may be a solution. |
