Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

Are there any Virus Scanner vendors with a scanner that is supported by
Vista? McAfee is working on one but I don't believe it is out yet. What does
everyone else use for now? Thanks in advance for any advice.

There are many others that work, also. Why not try searching the
newsgroups, since this topic has been widely discussed and there are several
recommendations, as well as warnings.

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

Avast works and, i believe, AVG works too (free version) I have tried Avast
on previous build and found it good (i'm trying the PC Cillin beta at the
moment) AVG has been used by me but i did have a few problems with it and
haven't tried it since - although i will try it again.

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

I do indeed have the Newly Released Version of McAfee Internet Security,
which works just fine on Windows Vista Beta 2 (with a few Minor Installation
Problem's on X64 Version's of Windows Vista Beta 2, Just FYI).

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

P.S. You can Download McAfee Internet Security 2007 from
http://www.mcafee.com/ (It is definitely available on the U.S.A. McAfee
Website, Just FYI).

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

I downloaded the MS patch to make Free AVG work, and it seemed fine.

But now each time I restart I get an error message.

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

Bill, as i said i haven't tried AVG lately. The last time i used it the
application was constantly accessing the floppy drive so i had to take it
off.

Avast has worked well, so too has PC Cillin beta (details of the pc cillin
beta are available in the security window of control panel (in the anti
virus section))

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

PC Cillin works fine, I have however conversed with the company in that at
present PC Cillin 2007 BETA is not Vista compatible

Re: Vista Beta & Virus Scanners

<<the application was constantly accessing the floppy drive

Thanks. You have to uncheck that option.

I was hoping someone else here might have it up and running. The error was
failure to initialize
