| | Apple Monitor want work on Gateway/Windows Vista O/S I tried to install an Apple Cinema monitor on a Gateway computer runing Windows Vista O/S. When I power up the computer the screend stopped during the boot up and said the AHCI Bios were not installed. I changed the video card from a NVIDIA 8500GT to an IMAC video card and still had the same issue (AHCI Bios not installed). The Apple Techs said the monitor has no problem running Windows Vista. I tried the Apple monitor on a cheap emachine running Windows XP and had no problem. Gateway said it is a third party issue and they will not provide support, buy another monitor. Any ideas what I could do about the error message to make my computer compatible with the Apple Cinema monitor? My system is a Gateway, Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600,. |

| | Re: Apple Monitor want work on Gateway/Windows Vista O/S That error seems to usually be associated with SATA/RAID harddrive controller issues. This thread had a solution that might help: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum...sta/1204991239 "Tom" <Tom@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:5A6AEC0C-A094-4FAD-ABB9-118078AAA48B@xxxxxx Quote: >I tried to install an Apple Cinema monitor on a Gateway computer runing > Windows Vista O/S.
