| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: How to see and change file extension in vista ? I have followed these instructions myself - I'm having the same problem too - but no folder will show file extensions. What I'm trying to do is rename the file to an "ico" file and I can't because I can't get the folder to even show the file extension no matter what I check or uncheck in the Folder Options window. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! ![]() Control Panel/Folder Options, VIEW tab has a checkbox to expose file extensions of 'known filetypes' -- Was this helpful? Then I open the folder that has the file I wish to change the extension for and when I go to "View" my only option (besides the size of the thumbnails) is "Details" which I have checked. I still do not see the file extension no less have the ability to change it. Thanks though. |
