| | ActiveX Control Not Installing in IE If I go to http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/radar....101111&loop=no and select Short Range Images Reflectivity: Composite Loop I get a yellow bar across the top of the page with the message: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer stopped this site from installing an AxtiveX control on your computer. Click here for options... If I pick "Install ActiveX control" I get the User Account Control dialog "A program needs your permission . . ." "Internet Explorer Add-on Installer" When I select "Continue" I get the dialog "Internet Explorer Installer Broker - Security Warning" "Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher." I used msconfig to turn to disable UAP, but then I get a similar dialog form "Internet Security - Security Warning" and still can't install the control. What can I do get this control to install - or is this a Vista bug? Thanks. |

| | Re: ActiveX Control Not Installing in IE I can not get it to install either on the latest build (5472). I would bug it. Then you should send an e-mail off to NOAA asking them to look in to the issue. | | Re: ActiveX Control Not Installing in IE Yes - you're right. Thanks for the SUN Beta-for-Vista link. After posting, I said the heck with IE and installed Firefox. Java was an easy install from there. btw - are you running Vista 64bit? I've been running XP Pro x64 on one of my PCs for some time and have been very happy with it. Unfortunately, my test PC is not 64bit.
