WMail wiped out OE folders; help?

I asked this yesterday but can't find where I asked; sorry if duplicate. I
attached my old hard drive with OE to new Vista PC by terminal. Before I
could transfer old folders WMail inserted it's info into OE & wiped out OE
folders. Surely the old OE files are somewhere. Is there any way to restore
them?
Hewlett Packard told me they are gone ... I was hoping someone on this forum
might know the secret. Thanks.
