Net Meter 1.1.3

Running Vista Home Premium. I have recently installed Net Meter 1.1.3 by
read error. It will not indicate that there is any download or upload. I
connect to the internet by ADSL using Speedtouch 330 modem. Can anyone help
me with checks that I should carry out in order to get it working. I would
appreciate any advice.

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

it works here!

Try this, right click on its icon in the try > options>General (see
screenshot)
http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/5686/netmeteryu2.jpg

and try all interfaces option or your primary network card (I assume your
adsl modem is connected via ethernet and not usb?)

tell me if this helps

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

Sorry I should have been more explicit about my setup. My ADSL Modem is
connected to USB.
By the way the options/general menu only offers All interfaces or Dial up
interfaces

Thanks for your interest.

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

so have you tried both settings?

hmmm the thing is that usb dsl connections are a bit strange, because they
use a driver that sometimes creates a virtual ethernet adaptor...

I think that modem supports ethernet, does your pc have a network adaptor..

its better using it that way you know...

there is another more advanced monitoring program that might work for you
that is also free (if you use the monitor only one)
www.netlimiter.com

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

Yes, I have tried both settings. I appreciate your ideas but am not sure
how to reconfigure my modem as you suggest. There are several network
adapters listed in Device Manager but they do not mean much to me.

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

sorry I just checked thomson,
the 330 is a USB only modem
see here
http://www.thomson-broadband.co.uk/c...&ProductID=471

so you will need another application other than net meter if it doesnt work
for you...

you can try netlimter 2 monitor that I told you that is free....
http://www.netlimiter.com/download.php

OR try one of these that are very similar to net meter (shareware) you can
try them with the TRIALS
to see if they work for you http://www.bwmonitor.com/

and du meter

http://www.hageltech.com/dumeter/

Hope this helps...

Re: Net Meter 1.1.3

I will try these others that you suggest. I was using BitMeter and for some
reason it just stopped working. I cannot find what had changed in my
computer to cause the problem unless it was a windows update!. Thanks.
