Unable to configure updates

please can you help. When i boot Vista Business it attempts to "configure
updates stage 3 of 3 o% complete" but does not do it. After a while the pc
reboots and trys again without success and then continuing to reboot.

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the
computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista :
