From 64-Bit back to 32-Bit

I just purchased a HP tx2000 Table PC with Vista Ultimate 64-Bit. However, I
got a Palm Treo 680 that only works with 32-Bit. I need to find a way to
change my operating system down to 32-Bit. Please advise how and/or where?

Re: From 64-Bit back to 32-Bit

I know that you can't install the 64 bit version as an upgrade to 32 bit,
and I'm pretty sure that you can't go from 64 to 32.

A clean install of the 32 bit OS is probably the only way.

Contact HP. They may be able to supply installation media for the lowest
price, if you think it's worth the trouble.

Return address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.

Return the "Table" PC, if you can. If not, then you'll need to buy a 32-
bit version of Vista, format the hard-drive, and install, though you
should be sure you can find all the 32-bit drivers for the hardware
inside your "Table" PC, before you do anything.

Re: From 64-Bit back to 32-Bit

You would need to check with HP to see if they will provide a 32-bit version
of Windows for your tablet, and you'll have to wipe the tablet and start all
over when you install it - no "downgrade" to 32-bit is possible from a
64-bit OS.

Why is everyone so quick to throw x64 out the window. You can Hotsync via bluetooth!

Here are more details:
Vista 64 Hotsync solution found! - Windows Hotsync - Community Help Forums

Make sure to get the x64 BT drivers for your Tablet. If you don't have BT there are ones that fit into the USB drives and don't even stick out more then a millimeter or two!

Besides, forget Vista 32 bit...it is junk.

Re: From 64-Bit back to 32-Bit

Thanks. I guest I will be better off to wait for Palm to come up with a
64-bit update.
