Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

I've no problem with NBC or Discovercard using IE7 and Vista HP.

Post your account number and password and I'll enter your required
transactions.

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

Follow up for anyone who is *not* experiencing the problem:

Are you on a Tablet? From the conversation in the link which I posted,
respondents have speculated that the problem is exclusive to Tablet edition.
If you are on Vista Tablet edition using IE7 and not experiencing the
problem that would at least give me the encouragement that the problem can
be solved.

Thanks,

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

I downloaded XP Tablet from MSDN and installing in a virtual machine. I'll
try to access NBC and post my results. My assumption is that if the problem
is with IE then I should experience the issue even though I'm not on tablet
hardware. We'll see if I'm right or not. Regardless of my results that
difference may be important.

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

Sorry for the delay... Life keeps getting in the way.

I cannot load NBC (http://www.nbc.com) from the XP Tablet version running in
a virtual machine. For me, the browser simply times out and gives the generic
"Page cannot be displayed" error message. I can load all the other sites I
usually go to. I haven't loaded anything that isn't on the XP install disks.
This is a completely generic install.

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

Thanks for running that test!

It seems as though there is something unique to both XP and Vista - Tablet
editions which prevent IE 7 from pulling up nbc.com.

So far, I don't think we've heard from anyone on the tablet platform who is
able to pull up nbc.com in IE7.

Thanks,

- Joseph Geretz -

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

FWIW: I did submit a technical support request on the NBC site for assistance
with this issue. My expectations that this will produce results are low, but
they may surprise me!

Re: What is it with Vista and IE7? Can't pull up nbc.com???

FYI, I'm having the same problems on nbc.com. I can access
Discovercard.com and SI.com no problem though. NBC.com is the only
site I have a problem with. I am running a Toshiba M700 tablet pc
running Vista Business and IE7. I've looked high and low for a
soloution and I've only seen your post. I don't think I had a problem
a month ago but regardless no nbc.com now. I've had this problem for
at least two or three weeks now. I had already tried removing
protected mode, adding nbc.com to a trusted site list, restoring
defaults, disabling addons, and more. No success so far.
