From the conversation in the link which I posted, respondents have speculated that the problem is exclusive to Tablet edition. If you are on Vista Tablet edition using IE7 and not experiencing the problem that would at least give me the encouragement that the problem can be solved. My assumption is that if the problem is with IE then I should experience the issue even though I'm not on tablet hardware. We'll see if I'm right or not. I cannot load NBC (http://www.nbc.com) from the XP Tablet version running in a virtual machine. For me, the browser simply times out and gives the generic "Page cannot be displayed" error message. It seems as though there is something unique to both XP and Vista - Tablet editions which prevent IE 7 from pulling up nbc.com. So far, I don't think we've heard from anyone on the tablet platform who is able to pull up nbc.com in IE7. NBC.com is the only site I have a problem with. I am running a Toshiba M700 tablet pc running Vista Business and IE7. I've looked high and low for a soloution and I've only seen your post. I don't think I had a problem a month ago but regardless no nbc.com now. I've had this problem for at least two or three weeks now. I had already tried removing protected mode, adding nbc.com to a trusted site list, restoring defaults, disabling addons, and more. No success so far. -Jonathan Spoer |
