Include quote ?

Forgive my ignorance, I can't find out how to include someone's message or quote When I make a reply. I went over the tutorials and the FAQ . I couldn't find what I need. I clicked at the QUOTE box and I was told my quote was too short --- I wasn't trying to make a quote. Obviously I did it wrong. Please tell me how to. Thank you.

Re: Include quote ?

Check Tools - Options - Send - CHECK Include Message in Reply - if using
Outlook Express.... should be similar in all programs.

Are you using the web interface at www.vistax64.com to access the forums and discussion groups? Sure you are, because you're a signed-up member...

When reading a post, you'll notice several buttons - At the top of all the thread is a single button, labeled "Post Reply". Clicking this button will allow you to post a new, empty, reply to the thread you are currently reading.

At the bottom of each post, there are 4 buttons - EDIT, QUOTE, MULTIQUOTE and QUICK REPLY:
  • Use EDIT to make changes to your own most recent posts, such as fixing spelling errors and such.
  • Use QUOTE to post a reply to a particular post, while automatically including a quoted copy of the post your are replying to.
  • I've never used MULTIQUOTE or QUICK REPLY, so I can't give 100% details on how they work.
What you can also do, when posting to either new or existing threads, is copy and past text into your post, select it, and then use the "Wrap QUOTE Tags around the selected text" icon on the editor. It looks like a little yellow speech bubble - Name: quote.bmp
Views: 17
Size: 1.4 KB. (It's just under the REDO icon)

Hope that helps...

Hit Ctrl + C
Place your cursor where you want it to be copied to, then hit Crtl + V

Re: Include quote ?

Peter, I'm sorry. I'm dumber than I thought. Please tell me step by step, such as compose the reply first, then click Quote? I tried that, didn't work. Bear with me, show me again, please.
