OK then - where is Vista SP1???

What did I miss? Isn't it the 18th of March. hasn't that date been 'verified' days ago?
I looked at the MS download site and also Windows Update. I thought for sure I would see many posts about it or maybe the lack of it on this ng......

What's your rush? Do you really want to take the extra risk of
installing via WU when demand on it will be the highest?

Relax, wait a couple of days, and then when demand is down, or better yet
MS releases a stand-alone download, go get SP1.

Personally, I'd never use Windows Update to install a Service Pack on a
MS OS. It's just an unnecessary layer that can introduce problems to the
SP install process.

DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD IF YOU ARE UPDATING JUST ONE COMPUTER: A smaller, more
appropriate download is available on Windows Update.

What about Vista Ultimate? When can we expect to see SP1 for this edition?

I'd rather use the standalone, than trust updating via WU.

When playing Russian Roulette, it is preferable not to add another bullet
to the gun.

Re: OK then - where is Vista SP1???

While I admit that I have not seen it yet on WU, I spent much of last
weekend uninstalling Language Packs in preparation for this. Each of the 40
or so language had to be uninstalled one at a time with a reboot between
each one. This version of SP1 only supports 5 major languages.
