SP 1 on windows update and technet

They released it to tame the beast :-)

SP1 does improve performance and stability... I have been using it for quite
a while.

how does one "push it"? i'm trying to get this and the microsoft
update site just says to use the control panel... which checks and
says it's all up to date....

i'm guessing this was meant to be smart.....
but perhaps you didn't understand me... i WAS checking for updates and
the site simply said use your control panel, which I did, and it told
me that it was already up to date.

so when i was asking how to push it, i wanted to know how others were
actually accessing the download.
however, someone else posted a link to the downloads page, which had
the service pack.

so i'm in the middle of installing it now.
however i could not get it through the updates. that's why i was
asking how others were pushing it.

thanks anyways....
