| | Can't install SP1 - error code 80070426 I am unable to install Vista SP1 via Windows update. This isn't an isolated incident - I have previously been unable to install an IE cumulative update with the same error message. The SP1 download stops at 13%, and the error code is 80070426. I have searched various forums, and the only suggested solution for this problem is to turn the cryptographic service on. It already is running, so that option is ruled out. | | Re: Can't install SP1 - error code 80070426 I manually downloaded and ran CheckSUR, but that didn't make any difference. Not too surprising, because my error code is not one of the ones it fixes!
