Vista - am unable to browse in IE 7 after installation of vista sp1

am unable to browse in IE 7 after installation of vista sp1

i installed servie pack 1 for vista. since then, i am unable to browse in IE
7 or mozilla. but i am able to browse in real player. my instant messenger
programs are working fine. The windows update is not working though. what
should i do? should i uninstall the service pack?
i am also finding that my system is slower after service pack 1 installation
