Vista - wmpnscfg.exe does not exist, but is in startup. Make x64 apps def

Hello!
'c:\program files (x86)\windows media player\wmpnscfg.exe' is listed on the
Startup tab in the 'System configuration' window in my Windows Vista x64. But
the 'c:\program files (x86)\windows media player\wmpnscfg.exe' does not exist
actually. I deleted the 'c:\program files (x86)\windows media
player\wmpnscfg.exe' from hkcu\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
but starting the WMP adds the c:\program files (x86)\windows media
player\wmpnscfg.exe to the hkcu\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
again. Why?
Why is the c:\program files (x86)\windows media player\wmpnscfg.exe in the
hkcu\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run at all?
How to make IE x64 and WMP x64 default applications, not 32bit versions? IE
x64 is 4 times faster and stable than IE 32bit.

I found the explanation relating wmpnscfg.exe in Spanish here:

If you wanna get rid of it fire up WMP11, click on Library, Shared
Multimedia... - or however they are translated from Spanish into English -
and uncheck the two options.
That should remove the entry in the registry.

I don't know how, but you can place a shortcut in your desktop to:
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
and run IE 64-bit from there.

If you click on a link from a 32-bit program you get IE32, and from a 64-bit
program, IE64. I personally have both shortcuts in quicklaunch as I use
both depending on whether I want/need the addons that don't work in 64-bit.
Its a nice way to eliminate flash when you don't want it and have it
available when you do.
