Vista drops network connection overnight

My new Vista PC is dropping the network connection overnight. When I
logon in the morning I no longer have access to the Internet and have
to restart the PC. Anyone know of a troubleshooting sequence I can go
to?

Try turning it off at night when you go to bed and hen you turn it on in the morning it shuold be ok.

You'll save a little on electricity and do your bit to slow down global warming.

Let me know if this help..your conscience at least.

RE: Vista drops network connection overnight

I realised after rebooting all the time the timeout has turned off the
internet and instead of rebooting all you need to do (if you have a lkap to)
is to flick the wireless switch at the front of your lap top and bingo it
onects (without having to reboot) not sure why it seems to tme out maybe to
so with standby, but at least to get it back without having to reboot is much
nicer )

I prefer not to completely shut down the PC at night. I'd rather fix
the problem. I't either a timeout parameter in Vista or the drivers
for the LinkSys router are not correct. It could sit all day unused
and I don't lose the network connection, yet I lose it overnight. I
am using a wired connection, not wireless.

Solution was simple. In the Power Management options I set the disk
drive to Never turn off.
