| | Re: Installing SP 1 If your installation fails using Windows Update you can download and install as a standalone installer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en I tried for 2 days to get windows update to install SP1 and it kept giving various errors, I downloaded and installed this and it installed without a hitch. | | Re: Installing SP 1 I only tried twice, but by the time it had 'rolled back' the system twice, more than three hours had gone by.... Windows Update History records both failed attempts, but this morning on booting up, rather than reminding me that I need to download nearly 70Mb worth of SP1 updates, Windows Update tells me that Windows is Up to Date. So which bit of Windows Update do I believe? Where I can I find out, because the System info doesn't mention SP1... just says Windows Vista Ultimate. Sorry if sounding sharp.... confusion doesn't suit me in the mornings! -- Fflei -- Fflei "Carey Frisch [MVP]" wrote: Quote: > Learn how to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) > http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/win...6f2021033.mspx > > Free SP1 technical support from Microsoft: > https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...4&gprid=500921 > > > -- > Carey Frisch > Microsoft MVP > Windows Desktop Experience - > Windows System & Performance > > --------------------------------------------------------------- > > "gwf396" wrote: > > I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium.
