retrieving past clipboards

I accidentally copied something new to the clipboard without using something
very important that I had on the current clipboard. Is there any way to
retreive old stuff on the clipboard?

What Mark said. However, for future reference, be aware that there are
utilities that will save clipboard info. If interested, Google for them.
