Block windows from popping up when typing.

I am trying to open up Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.x and stupid G00gle pops
up saying that I need to check on this and update that. Is there a way that
I can keep typing in the address bar and BLOCK all that other junk?
I started IE and was in the address bar, I'm a domain / local admin for my
company and I was trying to go to Microsoft.com and I was "blocked" by not
POP UP's per say, but messages, like when you first start Office 2007, it
wants to setup your profile and wonder if you want to send Microsoft messages
about performance and such.
I just want to do what I am doing in the current window and not have any
other window take priority and think it's the one I want.

Are you getting Google prompts
http://video.linux-noob.com/screenshots/ie7/google3.jpg or are they UAC
prompts?
