Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

When I bought this computer it had Trial Versions of several Microsoft
programs. One was MS Office 2007. I've tried to remove this and some of the
other programs, and I get the "error code 2755", and cannot remove them. Some
are sizeable and I would like to recover the space. Any ideas would be
appreciated.

Try it in Safe Mode.

Give this a try. Only took a few seconds on my system and dumped a whole
lot of stuff. If I remember correctly, it also gave me the option to add or
subtract whether I wanted to remove the items it found before exectution.

Hi:

This maybe you al ready know this:

List of error codes and error messages for Windows Installer processes
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...29683&x=9&y=11

You receive an "Internal Error 2755" or an "Exception code: C0000005
ACCESS_VIOLATION" error message when you install Office 2000 or view the
Setup log file for an earlier installation of Office

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...0780&x=10&y=12

You receive an "Internal Error 2755" error message when you try to install
Office 2000 from a remote Windows Terminal Server client
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=k...4841&x=14&y=14

Let us know the full description of the error code 2755, please.

Re: Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

Windows uninstaller doesn't run in Safe Mode.
Thanx for the try!

Re: Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

Before I go through this removal, I'm running MS Office 2003 Professional.
Will this be affected?
Also, I've checked to be notified when someone responds, which MS does and
sends a link. When I try to go there, it doesn't take me anywhere. Any
suggestions?? Obviously I'm new to The Communities Discussions.

Re: Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

I'm trying to uninstall:
"Activation Assistant for the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite" which was on the
machine when I purchased it. My OS is Vista Home Premium. When I try to
uninstall through control panel, the full error msg is:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.
This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755."

I have installed MS Office Professional 2003, and since the 2007 was a trial
offer I don't want to change.

Re: Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

You should have uninstalled ALL of Office 2007 Trial, before installing
Office 2003!
I am surprised 2003 even installed correctly, doing it the way you did.

And you don't say what email program you are using .

Re: Removing Pre-Loaded Trial Software

Safe Mode gives you access to the control panel and the 'remove programs'
option.
