| | Thumbnails not visible Hi, Whenever I view a folder (stored on a CD) with photo files using windows explorer it does not show the small pictures. Instead the standard windows icon/picture is shown. The pictures are visible for a short moment and then replaced by the default windows icon picture. This problem does not occur when I via a folder with photo files located on the harddisk. I use Windows Vista home premium (dutch version) Anyone familiar with this problem? Thanks in advance. |

Sometimes it may take a moment to load the thumbnails into the cache and for them to be displayed. Is the green bar moving across the address bar of the open CD window indicating that Vista is loading them? Shawn |

| | Re: Thumbnails not visible I have the same problem, for ANY directory of images I view. I have a brand new out of the box Dell with Vista, SP1 and Office 2007. Its a company machine so I don't want to mess with the registry. This started happening about a week after I added images to the Picture folder. Its not loading to cache becuase there is no gren timer thingy, its not blocked by the nextworked becuase it worked for a few days and its not memory becuase - although they are different here in Vista, I have emptied and cleared every temp file& folder I can think of and/or find. Its a real pain when trying to upload to web applications because not all images have been clearly named - I never had this problem in XP! Your advice is greatly appreciated. -Monica "Brink" wrote: Quote: > > Randal van Splunteren;664096 Wrote: Quote: > > Hi, > > > > Whenever I view a folder (stored on a CD) with photo files using > > windows > > explorer it does not show the small pictures. | | Re: Thumbnails not visible I'll try it. But why would they be enabled and visible for the first week then suddenly disable themselves? I'll let you know if it works. | | Re: Thumbnails not visible Well, it worked. Just not sure how it was turned on(checked) in the first place. I'm very specific about the way I set my views, becuase I LIKE to see file extensions and full paths. Anyway, Thanks!
