Altering location of 'My documents'

In WinXP right-click/properties solved the issue of moving the document
folder on fx a server drive.

In Vista is it similar - but in Vista there is a complete folder structure
to 'move' (music, photo etc) [for each user].

Is it possible to 'move' the whole structure?

Regards
Lars

Re: Altering location of 'My documents'

Hi,

I don't believe there is any "one shot" method of moving all the user data
folders, you have to move each of them individually.

Re: Altering location of 'My documents'

My advice is never to store anything in "My Documents".

Use a normal directory structure that meets your own requirements. Use
standard characters and underlines (no spaces) when naming directories and
files. That way, when you want / have to change computers and / or operating
systems, you can do so with minimal hassle.

Also, you can easily make multiple backups on external disks.

It's surprisingly difficult to get M$ (and computer geeks in general) to
understand that stuff like family photos should to be available to your
grandchildren and beyond.

Regards
