automatic updates

When I try to go to the windows update page, it always says "page failed to
load." I want to disable the updates because there is a particular one that
is installing and messing w/ my mouse!

Re: automatic updates

What "page"?

You uninstall updates from your computer, (Control Panel>Programs and
Features>View Installed Updates) not a "page".

Re: automatic updates

Hi Bob,

The OP said "disable the updates" and I may be wrong, but I believe they
mean "Hide" a particular update so it want be downloaded and installed.

RE: automatic updates

When you click "Start," "All Programs," then "Windows Update," a window opens
w/ options for updates. On my computer there's nothing in that window that
opens other than "page failed to load" in the middle of it.

Re: automatic updates

I suggest you run sfc /scannow as a possible fix for your problem.

The "page" you are referring to is in the Control Panel on your computer. In
the context of Microsoft newsgroups "page" usually refers to a website.
