CLI application (command line interface) has stopped working

I am getting the error message -- CLI application (command line interface)
has stopped working on startup on my Dell XPS Vista PC. Does anyone know how
to fix this??? And how does it occur.

It is probably a malfunctioning program running at startup.

I would recommend following the instructions in this KB article to try and
isolate which program it is:

Once you've discovered which program it is, you can either uninstall the
program if it's an unnecessary one, or try reinstalling the program if it's
something you need.
