Windows vista update and yahoo messenger

Ever since the latest update from windows vista approximately 3 days ago my
yahoo messenger has stopped running . I can open it up it seems to be working
but every time i try to message someone it gives me the following error

regardless of if i press yes or no it pops it pops up again somethin like 7
or 8 timesthe only difference is where it says line 16 this will change as
does the chr with each click

when i type a message into yahoo messenger everything seems fine until i
press enter then it sends me the same error message when click yes or no it
does not appear where typed text appears. When someone sends me a message the
same occurs i get no message other then the error message.

I have tried deleting yahoo messenger and reinstalling from 3 different
downloads of yahoomsgr 8. something or other and have downloaded the newer
beta version 9.0 as well both give me this error.

Prior to the latest update yahoo messenger was running fine i also
currently have 14.4 GB hard drive space available so can't be the not enough
disk space issue

first off anyone else having this problem
second what can i do to fix it?
