| | Vista not rendering 3D... I recently upgraded to Vista. I formatted my hard drive and did a clean install. After installing current drivers for my video card and nforce4 board I installed World of Warcraft. Whe I tried to load it I got this: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...ic040208_2.jpg Sorry for the poor quality. My phone is garbage and screen was hard to see. Imagine that tiled across a 22" display (without the red spot of course). So it doesn't work. Ok, I try to exit out of the game and my desktop now looks like this: http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...ic040208_3.jpg I can do nothing so I reboot. I went to the WoW forums to see if they could help and a tech said that something is stopping my computer from rendering 3D. He said to reinstall video and directx drivers. So I did and it didn't help. He then said that it could be a hardware issue. I told him that before I upgraded everything ran fine. I played games without any issues. I'm sure if I went back to XP right now I'd would have no problems. Could it still be a hardware issue if 3D works on one OS and not another? Any help would be appreciated. I'll be more than willing to provide any information needed. Thank you. |

What video card make/model do you have? 2. How much system RAM? 3. What version of Vista did you install? I doubt it is a hardware issue. If that doesn't help, something else you have installed that came along from XP is causing the issue. There is no way for me to guess what it is. If you really want Vista, back up your data - don't forget your saved games and WoW maps! - and do a clean install. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic! |
