Unlock the Taskbar and then "grab" the dotted line on the bottom bar and drag it up to immediately to the right of the QuickLaunch icons. Now you've successfully made the QuickLaunch toolbar shorter and can "grab" the top bar of the Taskbar and "push" it down to the regular one-tier height. | Windows 7 RC | Re: taskbar wont shrink to single line, always double Try this. Right click on your taskbar, uncheck "lock the taskbar". Move the mouse down until it is just at the top of the menu bar. You'll know when you have it. Now hold your left mouse button down and resize to your liking. Then right click on your taskbar and check "lock the taskbar". That should help you resize it. |

If you have toolbars on the task bar on multiple lines, you won't be able to reduce the task bar size to fewer than that number of lines. Put all the toolbars on one line first. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup |
