I am running Vista Ultimate 32, SP1.
I got SP1 through Windows Update.
What more can I say?

Just that you don't have one of the zillion counterindications mentioned in
KB Article ID 948343.

Re: Service pack 1

Here's something interesting. For the past few days, SP1 has been offered
through WU, and when I hit "install," is installs and then restarts the PC.
On the screen, it goes through "1 of 3, 2 of 3, and 3 of 3." Once it hits
100% in the "3 of 3" session, I get this message stating that "SP1 failed to
install and it was reverting back to the original configuration." What is
this all about? Thanks.

Re: Service pack 1

When I look at the website for the update, it says not to download the stand
alone for a single computer. When I check updates, it is not offered, and I
can't identify with any of the issues in the first link that you offered.
All of my drivers are up to date, no other lingering updates, I see no ref
to Vista SP1 being installed (only Office Suite 2007 SP1), and no blocking,
or 3rd party software.
