| | Delete windows.old ? Just done a clean install of build 5536 on the drive Beta 2 was on. Is it safe to delete the 'windows.old' folder once i've finished with it? |

| | Re: Delete windows.old ? If you don't need any documents or information from your previous installation is totally safe to delete windows.old folder. | | Re: Delete windows.old ? Now available in 5536, you can use the Disk Cleanup utility to delete Windows.old. Prior to this feature, you probably had to wrestle with file permissions, and the delete took a *long* time. This new feature is much quicker. Start->c-l-e-a-n, Press Enter Select "Files from all users on this computer" (requires elevation) (wait while it scans for things to clean up) Make sure "Previous Windows installation(s)" is checked Click OK and confirm at the "safety" prompt. -- David Goll Windows Portable Devices Team This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Thanks anyway, it cleared out 13GB of space!! |
