cannot remove kompozer

I have created
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Kompozer\KompoZer 0.7.10\...
Within this subdirectory, I installed komposer.
Part of kompozer is komposer.exe
Now... kompozer.exe will not execute.
I wanted to create a short cut to kompozer.exe,
but Vista says I cannot.
Now, since it will not run, I wanted to just remove it.
Within "control panel" I cannot find "add/remove".
Within the "KompoZer 0.7.10" subdirectory, I cannot find
"remove" or "uninstall".
From a command prompt, I tried...
C:\Program Files> rmdir /S "Mozilla Kompozer"
Vista came back (about a hundred times) and said
"access denied"

question: Can somebody tell me how to delete kompozer?
Tnx,
Charles

Re: cannot remove kompozer

Can not delete file or folder.

Open an Administrator Command Prompt

Type attrib -r -a -s -h del [drive] path] [filename] Press Enter.

It could be because the file got corrupted during download or because it was
not unzipped correctly. Give it another try.

One more possibility is that the downloaded .exe is being blocked. Take a
look at the file properties of kompozer.exe (right-click the file, select
Properties). Also, take a look at the Security tab in Properties, to make
sure System and the user have permission to execute the application.

Does this work?:
Right-click kompozer.exe, select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

If you give up on making it work, take Bob's advice.

Re: cannot remove kompozer

Bob,
( I have not had access to my computer for a few days )
I opened a command prompt window. First, to make typing
easier, I cd to "C:\progra~1\mozilla kompozer\kompozer
0.7.10". Then I followd your suggestion...
Quote:

>attrib -r -a -s -h del *.*
I got parameter format not correct -
Then I ran
Quote:

>attrib -r *.*
>attrib -s *.*
>attrib -h *.*
Now every file has "a" attribute.
I tried various permutations of
del *.*
attrib -a del *.*
and always got the same response.

I right clicked kompozer.exe and everybody has permission
to run it. Then I notice something. I wonder what would
happen if I click "XP mode"?
*GOT IT!*
Thanks to all of you (bob, charlie42, dev & lukan) for
your patience.
