| | sleep/hibernate/standby Hello Can you please explain the differences between standby, sleep and Hibernate. Looked it up but just tells my how to do it, not which does which. Thank you |

| | Re: sleep/hibernate/standby These are very slippery terms with no true fixed meaning. Some will use them interchangeably and others won't. In general both "standby" and "sleep" are regarded as low-power states where the computer is mostly powered down but memory is kept intact and ready for a fast restart. Hibernation almost always refers to a state where memory is saved to the hard drive and the computer completely powered down.
