| Vista x64 | Weird robocopy results for users folder in Vista Hello folks, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on something that I've seen going on since making the switch to Vista. I use task scheduler to run a robocopy script (as administrator) which under XP would synchronize the "my documents" folder to an external server. With the changes in Vista I am trying to synchronize the data now under the "users" folder and I'm seeing some strange behavior. When the "users\jmpage2" folder is copied it appears that for many files/folders multiple copies are created due to the virtual folder mapping of "my documents" within the "users\jmpage2" hierarchy. In other words, not only do all of my pictures show up under "users\jmpage2\pictures" they also wind up getting copied a second time under "users\jmpage2\my documents\my pictures". I've put in copy exclusions for some of these folders with the /xd switch in robocopy but I'm hoping that there's a more elegant way of doing this. I'm also noticing now under vista that many files now seem to exist in multiple places, for example it appears as though my outlook.pst file is in 3 different places! Any help appreciated. |

You only have to type 'robocopy /?' to see all the options, just like any other command. ss. |
