| | What Level to Use with Software Installation When installing software programs (such as an antivirus, malware, backup program, etc) on a new computer with vista business edition, should each installation be at the administrator level or will that be determined by the requirements of the software being installed? Thanks Sam. |

| | RE: What Level to Use with Software Installation Hi Sam, The installation level will be be determined by the requirements of the software being installed, UAC (User Account Control) will prompt for elevation if the installer tries to write to a restricted path i.e system folder or the registry if you are an adminstrator UAC will prompt you to continue with the installation when this is detected and if you are a standard user or power user you will be prompted to provide administrator credentials to continue. -- Wayne Lloyd "Sam" wrote: Quote: > When installing software programs (such as an antivirus, malware, backup > program, etc) on a new computer with vista business edition, should each > installation be at the administrator level or will that be determined by the > requirements of the software being installed?
