Legacy OS missing from boot menu

I have Windows MCE installed on C drive.
I tried to launch the installer for Vista 64bit edition (beta 2 build 5384)
from MCE but received a message saying it was not a valid 32 bit app so I
booted from the DVD.

I installed Vista to the D drive. I did not see any indication that it saw
the isntall of MCE at all.

After the installation was complete, I cannot get to the install of MCE,
there is no boot menu displayed on startup. How do I get the new boot manager
to give me the option to boot to the legacy OS?

Re: Legacy OS missing from boot menu

It should have at least detected the existing install of Windows and leave
it alone. Have you checked under Earlier Version of Windows entry on the
boot manager? Select that uses the up arrow on your keyboard, press enter,
and you should see XP MCE 2005

Re: Legacy OS missing from boot menu

Same thing has happened to me. I installed Vista on a separate disk, to XP,
but boot manager only sees Vista.

Re: Legacy OS missing from boot menu

Their Forum is great for any problems with Vista...or anything else for that
matter.
