Thank You for your time and > attention. no need for a spreadsheet program), then you can install the free viewer from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.asp If you'd like to be able to change things but don't want to purchase MS Office (which has never been a part of any Windows operating system BTW), then OpenOffice is an excellent office suite which can read and write MS Office formats. It is free and available from www.openoffice.org. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic! |

And then there's... Open... Office... which views any Microsoft Office file, from Excel and Word to Powerpoint and Access, and lets you edit them and or convert them to other formats, for free. For free. I've been using it for awhile, and it's beautiful. Just beautiful. Only works with Excel 97-2003 docs (files with .xls extension) and not with Excel 2007 docs (files with .xlsx extension). Won't do charts either. So... if the spreadsheet you want to view is fairly simple, you could use Google Docs to view it without having to install a viewer or OpenOffice. (Although you would have to create a free Google account...) If the spreadsheet is more complex, then you may have to go with the viewer or OpenOffice. Lang |
